SAM ADAMS LAGER DRAFT
Poured from a bottle into a proper Sam Adams glass. The pour is crystal clear, goldenamber, and sports a majestic white head that demonstrates some good staying power and leaves behind some attractive lacing. The nose is nice and malty, but still manages to harbor some spicy herbal notes.
Wellbalanced flavor with a firm feel, adequate body, and good complexity. Toast and malty notes up front are met by a generous hop addition that brings flavors of tea and lemon. The finish is dry enough to make the beer very refreshing.
Hardly anyone gets into craft beer without enjoying several of these along the way. One of the first hoppedup Vienna Lagers I enjoyed. I suppose a bit more malt character would make this beer match the style description a bit better, but who cares. Lots of flavor and an excellent balance make this a true American classic.
